It’s an appropriate title to this post. Never in our lifetime have we seen a pandemic of this magnitude strike our world. It’s frightening on so many levels as we see people of all ages fall ill to the Covid-19 virus.
As we head into another week of “social distancing” and the first full week of business disruption, I want to take this opportunity to say a huge, THANK YOU! to the many women and men in the health care field who are risking their lives to take care of the ill among us. You rock!!
Along that same line, we have all heard about the shortages in supplies that health care workers are experiencing, especially masks. My wife and a group of ladies in our community decided to do their part and stitch masks for use locally. If you have a sewing machine and would like to pitch in please reply to this blog and we’ll coordinate with you.
During this time apart, mental health experts have talked about the importance of staying connected to family and friends. Of course, if you own an Apple product you can Face Time with anyone who also has an Apple product. But, not everyone does. There is a FREE app that a friend introduced us to called Zoom. Zoom allows you to schedule a meeting and invite your friends or family with a specific code. Meetings can last up to 45 minutes-plenty of time to catch up with everyone. You can use it on your phone, tablet, or PC.
As for real estate, although our office is officially closed, we are still able to assist you “virtually,” by phone, email, and text. If you are in the process of buying or selling, we received news this afternoon that Governor Wolf signed an order that allows settlement companies to continue to complete transactions.
So, lenders are still lending, appraisers are still appraising, settlement companies are still settling, and Realtors are still here to help you through the entire process.
Uncharted waters, yes, but we will get through this together. Stay strong; stay healthy; stay positive!
