December market statistics have been released by RBI and show the first down month of the year. Sales volume was off 6.6% over the same period in 2015 with the average sale price falling slightly, 1.15%. Most of the negative numbers came in the attached housing category which fell by nearly 24% in December. Detached housing was just down slightly over last year. There were a total of 753 “active” listings in December, which is one of the lowest number of listings in awhile. And, as of today, that number has fallen to 731.
