Mortgage News for August 29

From the desk of Ted Gosnell at First Home Mortgage

“Mortgage rates are little changed this week.  Today’s surprising second quarter growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2.5% seemed to balance yesterday’s disappointing existing home sales data and with the two opposing surprises balancing each other the financial markets and interest rates remained relatively stable.

Another thing that will end in September is the availability of USDA Rural Development loans for properties in the Borough of Chambersburg; that said, you should probably stop showing your USDA Rural Development PreApproved buyers Borough of Chambersburg properties.  Because any USDA loan, on a borough property, that hasn’t been approved by USDA by the end of September, won’t be eligible and we all know how slow the USDA pipeline can move.”
